Day 2 - Take A Picture Of Yourself Holding A Piece Of Fruit
So, some bastard ate the banana that I was going to use for this photograph. I subbed in my cat. She’s mean, but is the only animal I have that will sit still for the three seconds required. She’s also smoosh-able, when she’s not being a bitch.
As a bonus for not having fruit, I’m including this:
A Symbol That Means Something To Me.
This is the AIR flag. It stands for ‘Art Is Resistance.’ It was a fictional symbol of the resistance in Trent Reznor’s Year Zero mythos. In that story, the government was forcing the people down. Quelling their forms of free expression. Crushing art, and crushing the soul of the people. I remember how enraged it made me to think of being silenced. Whether it be my writing, or anything else I create. Censorship is bullshit. Fuck whoever tells you otherwise. Don’t let anyone stand in the way of expressing yourself.
That’s why I love this flag. Because Art IS Resistance. And, I will never stop resisting.

I am back in Dominican Republic, where I begin to feel like I belong here more and more since I arrived on Friday night. This place gives me a feeling that I have missed in a while. Slipstreamed into hanging out with friends I havent seen in month/years and catching up, while socializing yet still being my new crazy self. Living life without regrets and to the fullest. My uncle asked me today if I plan to live here. Now, soon or later. Which is what began my thinking of what I really want to do with my life. Where I want to be and who I want to be. All so interesting. Academically I am done with all that ordeal, just have to pay off my student loans, then I am free to be taken wherever the winds desire to take me. Tomorrow. La Romana. Driving my little sister out there for her work. Beaching it and possible Scuba Diving. We shall see. I just announced Beach Week!… I need to go to a different beach every day this week. Its a plan. Must take pictures too. I love pictures and My Nikon D90. Anyways. Gonna lay down and watch a movie or listen to music while I read a book. Rescue Diver manual or a Nikon D90 User guide.
